I want to book a photoshoot! How does it work?
Great! First, please get in touch HERE so we can set a time and date for our photoshoot. We can discuss details for the shoot either on the phone or face-to-face. Once we set a date, I will email you a written agreement. Please fill it out and return it to me.
Second, our photoshoot! To lock your booking in, I am asking you to pay a 50% deposit. This deposit is non refundable. The second part of the payment is due before the photoshoot starts. In case outer circumstances like the weather prevent us to stick to our plan, we will of course reschedule.
Third, time to select your favourite photos! Usually within one week after our shooting I will send you a link to an online gallery with your photos. At this stage the photos are called ‘proofs’ because they are only mildly retouched, with the sole purpose for you to select what you like best. Depending on your package, you can expect between 50 and 150 proofs to choose from.
Fourth, Photos! After selecting your favourites, I will retouch your chosen images in detail. About a week later you will receive a link to download your set of photos in both low (for web) and high resolution (for print). Voilà!
What if I am not photogenic?
You may think you’re not photogenic, but I respectfully disagree. To be photogenic simply means to relax and be yourself in front of the camera. And with a little help, everyone can do just that!
My job is not only to put your features in a good light and find the right angles for your body. It’s also to make sure you feel empowered and beautiful. You will walk away with a cherished experience and of course with photos you can be proud of.
What if I am shy and don’t know what to do in front of the camera?
I completely understand your feelings as I’ve been there myself! Having a camera pointed at you can feel weird and uncomfortable. I don’t expect you to act like a professional model, and that’s why we won’t jump into the session right away.
My first priority is to get a good feel for each other. So we take our time to relax and take the edge off so-to-say. Once we start taking pictures there will be an ongoing interaction where I’ll lead you through the shoot, show you poses, keep an eye on your hair, and simply make sure you look perfect and feel comfortable.
Oh, and last but not least, I will add a breeze of humor and not take myself too seriously. This is meant to be a playful and joyous experience. After all having fun is the spice of life!
How many outfits do I need to bring?
Yoga Photography: Generally I suggest to bring three different outfits. You can bring more or less, depending how much variation you would like to see in your photos. Wearing a different outfit for each of the different location, gives you greater variety when using your photos. Accessories are also good to put on the check list.
Expression & Love Photography: Depending on the package you choose, I recommend 3-5 different outfits.
Beauty (Boudoir)Photography: More is more! If you are unsure, simply bring more items and we will choose together. Other than lingerie, you can bring a kimono, a robe, high heels, and anything you feel amazing in. I will also provide you with a variety of props and beautiful sheer fabrics to play with.
Do I need to wear makeup?
Generally I recommend to wear makeup for a photoshoot, even if only mascara and some lip gloss. Some Yoginis never wear makeup and prefer to not combine makeup with their Yoga practice. Others feel more confident with mascara and some makeup.
For best results I suggest to use a makeup artist. I’ve partnered with a professional and she understands how to use makeup to bring out your features in the most charming and natural way. In addition to her skill, she only uses organic and cruelty-free products.
If you choose the Inspired or Abundant Package, I’d be happy to arrange her to join your shoot. Please know that the costs for the makeup artist are not included in the package price.
Do I need to get a manicure and pedicure?
I have skin imperfections – Can the photos be retouched?
Yes, of course! I specialize in retouching skin in order to enhance the look of my clients with full integrity. Retouching in detail is quite a lengthy process. To keep it fair and balanced, I include 2-5 images I work on closely, depending on the package.
All images undergo careful retouching and I’m sure you will love the outcome. I usually customize my post production to your personal needs.
How do I pay?
How long does it take to get my photos?
I looooove to keep the momentum up! There are several steps involved in order to get your finished photos, which can take anywhere from two to four weeks. The time simply depends on how quickly we move through the process.
Step 1: Within two weeks after our photoshoot you will receive a link to an online gallery with your photos. At this stage the photos are called ‘proofs’ because they are only mildly retouched, with the sole purpose for you to select the ones you like best. Depending on your package, you can expect between 80 and 150 proofs to choose from.
Step 2: Now its up to you to select your favourites. The sooner you pick your photos, the sooner we can move to the next step.
Step 3: Once you confirm your selection, I will retouch your chosen images in detail. Depending on the number of photos, this can take up to two weeks.
Step 4: As soon as this is done, you will receive a link to download your set of photos. Voilà!
How can I use my images?
Do I need credit you when I use the photos?
It depends. You do not need to credit me if you use the photos for personal or business purposes on your own website, flyers, posters, social media, etc.
You’re required to credit me if a photo is used in a publication (i.e. a magazine, newspaper, or a blog that’s not yours.) Please add a credit with my name and a link to my website. This is a common practice for professional photographers.
Commercial purposes, like selling your photos on a stock photography website, are not allowed.
What if I want more photos than included in my package?
Can I get my photos in black and white as well?
Yes, you can! If you book the abundant package, each chosen image will come in two different looks. This can be black and white, a specific filter or some other creative finishing of the image.
A second batch of photos in a different look is particularly interesting if you want to promote yourself on social media, as it increases the variety of photos you can choose from. To achieve your favourite look, you can show me samples of your favorite photographic styles or filter and I will do my best to create just that.
Will you use my photos on your portfolio?
I reserve the right to use images I take for my portfolio, however I understand if you feel private about specific pictures. If you let me know about photos you don’t want shared publicly, I will respect your wishes.
For Boudoir Photography: Due to the very personal style, I won’t share any images without your permission. This is included in our agreement under the section ‘Model Release’.
